I learned more than I could list but I would have to say.... living simply and within my means has turned out to be the happiest time of my life. Also that my questions aren't stupid either!

I second Debbie's reply. I grew up with a very frugal mother (she grew up during the depression). There were 8 of us kids and only my dad worked. Wore lots of hand-me-downs, including my brother's, but you know, it didn't really matter. As I got older, married, and saw others around me with lots of "stuff" I must admit I grew envious and wanted "stuff." Well here I am, lots of "stuff" and lots of debt to go with it! No more!!! Give me the simple life back I grew up with..... Thanks FV!

I have learned that others think like I do. I have also learned that enthusiasm is contagious.

I've learned how to be frugal, it's been a long time coming. I too have been happy to know that there is no question TOO dumb.

I've learned how to let my cyber friends get to know the real me and in spite of that---they still talk to me.

I've learned to trust myself more.

(oh yes, and how to use coupons & stockpile)

Smile I am so glad you asked this question....

because I have definitely noticed a change in my attitude since joining FV - in addition to learning great ideas and strategies.

I feel better about myself - your positive feedback has really helped.

I feel stronger and am able to appreciate myself more.

I feel as if I do have something to offer others.

    I like my life better.

I've learned that there is strength in numbers.
That diversity offers the best forum for life's continuing education.
That I'm not too old to learn.
That the young inspire me with their confidence and optimism.
That I too have something to say.

I've learned that there are others out there who don't think I'm strange for washing out my ziplocks.

I've learned to challenge myself monthly to bake something.

I've learned that there are many good people who I will never meet, yet I get to know them.

I've learned that others here appreciate some of my advice and life experience........ and that I certainly appreciate theirs!

I've learned that humor and honesty abound.

And I've learned more about me........

I learned I can be even more frugal and keep to a tighter budget.
And when I think my hubby is not frugal, well he is , but not the extent I want him to be, but that is okay....two like me, in same household would not be a good thing.

And I REALLY like to be among like minded friends.....who don't think I am cheap at all......I'm just frugal

I like coming here to get even more motivated.....to be challenged....almost like a contest every day......

I've learned new techniques for saving money and found some friends to share what I already knew. It's great having friends I can tell "Hey! Look what I did!". It's also wonderful to have people I can ask, "Do you know anything about this?"

I have learned that I have a long way to go before I can say I am truely frugal. However, I have come a long way so far.

I have learned that it can be fun to be frugal and that I was already living somewhat frugally before I joined you all here. I have learned how inspiring that it can be by seeing others succeed so much in this lifestyle. Finally, I have learned that this lifestyle can be very fulfilling.
