    Default HBA products

I read a lot of shopping posts like the grocery budget & others...

I'm curious, what type of HBA prod's do you buy on a regular basis?

I feel kinda outta the loop as i _rarely_ buy anything I'd consider hba... but maybe I dont consume them, or have them incorrectly labeled as something else.

    just curious, that's all.

I am boring in this dept...I just buy shampoo and conditioner, that' it

I make all of our bar soap, don't use makeup at all and not much lotion and if I want lotion, I just make it

For me, I would consider HBA to be non-food items such as haircare, dental items, feminine products, toilet paper, deodorant, soap, makeup, OTC medicine & shaving products. It's really all what suits your consumption.

I don't buy each of these items each week as part of my regular shopping, however. If I find a good price, I will buy/get for free as many as I have coupons for/have space for, depending on the product size (limited storage here) & my usage. One week I may get 4 toothpastes. The next week I may get 4 deodorants. I may not get anything for a few weeks until a good price comes up. Hope that makes sense.

Contact lens solution, OTC medication, toothpaste, makeup, deodorant, shaving cream & razors, etc.

    ditto the pp's.

    I buy:
    body wash
    shampoo
    conditioner
    leave-in conditioner
    deodorant
    lotion
    tampons / panty liners
    shaving gel
    razors
    powder
    chapstick
    nailpolish
    manicure/pedicure tools
    loofahs
    toothpaste
    toothbrushes
    floss
    listerine
    contact solution

    I think that's it.

And, like pp's, I don't buy all of these on a regular basis. I stock up when I see deals. I haven't bought DH deodorant for a LONG time b/c I had coupons and there was a sale a while ago, so we stocked up.

Wow, thanks everyone... what a great response I got.

I guess I'm more shocked that some buy HBA on a regular basis - almost a weekly basis.
These types of things we buy on a monthly or every few months.
I don't use a lot of the products listed, not that there's anything wrong w/those of you who use any of these products. But I think that's where my confusion came in of not knowing what may/may not be.

lol thanks - all are great answers!

I buy HBA when we need them or when a really good sale. By no means every week or even every month. Things like hairbrushes once in a blue moon LOL. Hubby has the same comb since he was 13 years old.

In our HBA section I include

    toothbrushes
    toothpaste
    dental mouth wash
    floss
    hairbrushes
    hair elastics and barrettes
    shampoo
    conditioner
    hair gel for Hubby
    bar soap
    Shaving cream for hubby
    razors (or razor blades)
    deodorant
    tampons
    oatmeal for the bath
    bandaids
    lotion
    rash cream
    over the counter medications
    vitamins
    sunscreen
    chapstick

make up would go here too but I don't wear any

I generally include kleenex and tp in my household consumable category I'm not sure why maybe because it is sold in that area of our store with the bags, detergents, foil etc

Most of this stuff is bought on a monthly basis, except for shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste -- I got a great deal on that months ago and we've been using it from our stash ever since. But anyway, we use:

    -- shampoo and conditioner
-- soap (bought once every 1-2 mos ... DH is hard to please or plan ahead for)
    -- lotion
-- hairspray and gel (uhh ... one can and one bottle a year, maybe-ish?)
    -- toothpaste
    -- toothbrushes (as needed, LOL)
    -- mouthwash
    -- facewash and moisturizer
    -- deodorant
-- DH's body spray (for his "metro" side ... pssht)
-- disposable razors (I buy these so infrequently that I am ashamed to let you know how often I don't shave my legs ... hate it hate it hate it)
    -- Q-tips (yearly, I think)

Every few months, I buy tampons, hair accessories, OTC meds, makeup, etc.

I think I pick up a few items almost every week but it is rarely because we are out of these products. (I stock up on things like toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, etc) Like this week I got 4 tubes of toothpaste for free, two handsoaps for $.30 each, shaving cream for $.99 things that if we run out quickly add up so I make sure that we don't run out.
