    Question Auto and Homeowners Insurance?

Does anyone have any good advice to share about getting good rates on insurance? We are wanting to switch companies. How do you decide what deductable? Do you have your policies with the same company? Or auto at one place and homeowners at another? It's so confusing trying to understand the policies, does anyone else have this problem?
Our current auto and homeowners is with the same company. We did search around for the best deal the last time we switched, but I feel we can do alot better.
Any help would be much appreciated. TIA!

All I know is that it is usually cheaper to have you homeowners and auto with the same company. I have had State Farm the whole time and they have given us the best deal and even on my teen driver. We did check out a couple others.

What company do you have now if you don't mine me asking?

We got our best rates the last 7 years from AAA. Our agent is great and actually got us a 180 decrease on the 2 policies this year

We have saved alot of money switching the cars and house over to aarp. They saved us almost half on our homeowners. You have to be 50 to join.

The rental is with state farm, I cant find a cheaper rate than them.

I have the deductable sitting in the bank. IT is for the deductable only, It never gets touched and is not part of the emergency fund. This way I can keep the higher deductable and keep the cost down.

A few months ago I switched both our car and homeowners to one company and saved our family over $800.00 a year!! The company we are with now is Grange and we couldn't be happier with them.

We switched from AAA to Liberty Mutual 4 years ago and cut our rates by more than 50%. We not only switched our cars, but our house insurance too. After we switched a friend of ours checked them out for her insurance and she also saved more than 50% off her insurance cost! They offer a lot of discounts...you might want to check them out.

We have both our vehicles and the house with Erie. They are by far the cheapest in my area. About once every two years I call around to all the companies in my area and get quotes. For the last 10+ years noone has been able to beat Erie. We get accident forgiveness for the first accident, a discount for having both cars and house with them, and we get discounts every so often for being with them for a certain number of years and for a good driving record.
