    Default coffee pot cleaner?

What do you use to clean your coffee pot? I last used white vinegar and was not impressed with the result.

Lime Away or CLR. We have very hard water here and it takes alot to break that stuff down.
    Rinse well.

White vinegar works well for us here. We have hard water, so every once in a while, I run the vinegar through it a couple of times, and then run water through it 3 or 4 times. It all really depends on the hardness of your water, I think.

So you just add vinegar where you usually put the water and run it through as if you're making coffee? Without the grounds, obviously LOL

When I was a waitress as a teen, that's what we used at work.

For the glass I just swish ice cubes and salt around, for the lid I soak in hot water and some bleach.

I stick my glass part in the dishwasher.
I run vinegar through the coffee maker itself, mixed with water.

We have lots of minerals in our water. DH uses vinegar, but has to do it regularly or it doesn't get clean enough.

I do the same as baxjul.......put the pot in the dishwasher, along with the filter holder. The pot twinkles when it comes out but the filter holder is stained but much better.

For the vinegar part I use straight white vinegar (about a cup..little more) as just as it starts to 'gurgle' and come through to the pot I stop it (shut it off) and let it sit for about 20 minutes to let the vinegar work. Then run two pots of water through it after finishing pumping the vinegar out. Really hard water here and this works better than mixing it. I do it about every two to three months.

Soap and water for the glass pot.
Then I run a couple of pots of hot water through it every few weeks to kind of just flush things out.
Although I don't use my coffee pot every day either.

I use vinegar... and for the pot itself, since I have a steel one I use Magic eraser type things with a pretty strong bleach mixture. Works like a charm. And I use my coffee pot about 3 times per day so it gets filthy.

I've never used anything except white vinegar. Are you running a few pots of plain water through your coffee maker before making coffee after cleaning it? If you don't it will make the coffee taste funny for the first couple of pots.
