Default How do you get a stain off a kitchen counter

Like kool-aid but it was Crystal light. I am going to blame my kitty cat for this. It's that red color and I have been cleaning it today and it is a little lighter but still there.

I always spray it with a little bleach and water and let it sit for a few minutes. I don't know if I'd do it if I had newer counters though...

I have formica counter tops (lovely--not!) and I use Comet soft scrub or Mr. Clean erasers.

Another vote for bleach/water solution (even a small amount of bleach on a paper towel without water), or one of the gel cleansers that contains bleach - depending somewhat on the type of counter top you have. A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might also work (it's a mild abrasive), as would Bon-Ami or even a sprinkling of Borax or Baking Soda. Lemon juice and soda (a "natural" acid/abrasive combination).

I would try the mild products/methods first and move your way up the abrasive scale. Perhaps test a small spot first before going in for the kill.

I've heard Bar Keeper's Friend works, but I haven't tried it.

my counter tops are white and i tried bleach, etc when the kids spilled a koolaid packet and never told me, nothing worked. At the Dollar Tree I got some LA's Awesome Orange, sprayed it on in like a little puddle and I could literally see the stuff come up off the counter before I even wiped it. All I had to do was wipe it off with a cloth, didn't even have to scrub it.
