Why are there Dirt Streaks .........
I have noticed that whenever I do the laundry, some of the clothes actually come out dirtier than when they went in. When I do white clothes, sometimes there are dirt streaks on the shirts & sheets & I know that they didn't have them before...and I have to rewash them. When I do dark clothing, the streaks appear as lint. and most of the time, i will put the affected pieces of clothing in the dryer for about 10 minutes before hanging them outside & it takes the dirty lint off of them. This has been an increasing problem over the last 2 yrs. Our city had an e-coli scare & I think they started putting stuff in the water to keep it from happening again....maybe that is the cause? My washer is only 3 yrs old, so I don't think its that..I have tried using fabric softener & it still happens....other than hand-washing the clothes, what can I do? & does anyone know why this might be happening? Thanks

if very dirty or linty wash leaves soil residue behind, wipe out the inner tub. Leave lid open so tub will dry. Clean lint filters & dispensers as manual directs.
wash outside of washer w/ mild suds, rinse & wipe dry. Creamy appliance wax can be used occasionally, especially on painted surfaces, for extra protection of surface.
If hard water minerals build up a deposit inside washer, do not use a vinegar rinse unless you contact washer manufacturer or dealer & get their OK. Porcelain enamel washer inner tubs are made to resist alkalis (in detergent & laundry additives) not acids. Long exposure to acids can etch & roughen porcelain enamel tubs so they damage fabrics & may also rust metal parts of the washer.
I also think that we tend to over fill our washer with "to many" clothes at a time and it does not allow it to rince all the "fabric resudue and dirt" out of the water. I would try a few less pieces of cloths, clean the tub between washes, and the vinegar rinse is great!!!

We have really hard water here so I run a cup of CLR throught the washer with HOT water all by itself. That halps alot of my problems for awhile.
