Default Has everyone else had a hard time getting on FV over the past month or so?

It seems as if, out of 4 tries to get on FV, 3 bomb out. "site not found" or something like that.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but is the site having upgrades or other work done?

I'm having a problem with the entire page loading. Usually the thick gray bar loads. Then I have to refresh the page 2 or 3 tries to get the entire page up. Also, my Edit, Hugs, and Thanks buttons disappeared. The edit returned but I don't think the other 2 have. And when I post, I don't always have the "smiles" option. It's a hit or miss.

I don't think you are too far off when you say 3 out of 4 bomb. Just reading the title I was thinking "yep, 75% of the time"

That sometimes happens to me. Quite annoying, IMO.

I get on okay, but have had the same problem with the pages not loading. Or loading but with errors. My "thanks" button went away for quite a while as well, but just as mysteriously returned. (Yours is there now, btw, gapeach, at least for me.) It freezes up a LOT and takes a LONG time to load pages. I sometimes have my work laptop and my personal laptop side by side, and I have the same problems on both, so I don't think it is a hardware problem on my side.

I am having a very hard time getting to FV too. When I try it says that the site is unavailable. I usually just go somewhere else and check back later, but it seems to be more and more often lately. Last night I actually did a google search and use the link that came up to get here because nothing else worked. I don't know what the problem is, but it is happening to me to and alot! I wondered if I was the only one, but since I am not, I don't feel alone now!

I can usually get on but it is vveeerrrryyyyy slow. Don't always have the smiles option. And it has locked up my computer when trying to sign out and go back to my home page. Seems like it is worse if I have been on here awhile....I delete the cookies, run c-cleaner and it doesn't help. Have actually had to close my server down to completely close out and then I get the 'system busy - do you want to end program' thing before closing down. Weird........WHERE'S SARA???? Or Gabe???

They are working on some of the problems. I can't get smilies, Chat box, or top 5 at the bottom but I did a Windows update 3 days ago and that's when it started doing this. So I've been logging in from Internet Explorer and everything is there. I think the update did something whacky to Vista or AOL. I'm not a braniac when it comes to computers so I'm probably way off base on this.

We are going through a DNS changes right now. WE had performance issues with the name server. I am adding another one to help the server cope with the stress on the server.

Things should be back to normal in a couple days.

    Sorry for the problems.

i thought it was just me. I kept getting locked out. It kept saying i was veiwing as guest not a member. Has anyone else had that problem? I seem to be fixed for now. Curious if it is just me.

I have had a lot of problems on and off in the past with loading pages on this site.

People on dialup are going to have a hard time.

When you post you have problems, you may want to include info about your method of connecting to the internet, and maybe what your computer is.

My old computer is 10 yrs old plus, still works, but I had to retire it. I used dialup for 9 yrs.

The computer I am using now is a garage sale find. I am on DSL now through my phone company. I can now load these pages very easy and very fast. I am currently not having any problems with this site.

Putting as much information as possible might help me understand where the bottleneck is on the server/network. Indeed, please feel free to provide as much information possible.
