Computor question, pretty please
If you can help me out I will kiss your feet and send you cupcakes.

I will try to explain as clear as I can. I few months ago I hit something on my keyboard in the dark. It changed the size of the letters, icons, and everything is bigger and won't fit into my screen. I have to always scoll back and forth to read things and it drives me crazy! Like say on a message board if there is a picture, the page I am reading will be off.
I've tried the change zoom level(it says 100% right now) and if I do change it, it won't stay permanant and then everything will align to the left of my screen, just a little smaller, I've gone into my control panel and can't figure out what to do, and even did a system restore to the date I know it happened. But not sure if I did that correctly or not because the other day when it was almost finished everything looked back to the right size and at the end it went back to this large font and pictures. Grrrrr.
This is a laptop and windows Vista if that helps. I can go on my old computor and this site looks perfect and everything is all in line, but on my laptop, everything looks messed up and takes me longer to find things. This is like this with other boards and even my home page, I have to use the scroll bar. Someone told me to use like the ctrl and move my scroll bar(I think, but not sure) I did that and it worked but once I signed off and back on, the computor is back this way. Sorry so long. I just can't figure out for the life of me how to fix this.
TIA

Hit the ctrl button and then the "-" button to make it smaller
(ctrl and + makes it bigger)

Thank you and that worked, but when I log back off my computor(and I did) it goes back to this huge stuff. How would I make it permanant that I would not have to do this everytime when I sign on?

I have a laptop also, Windows Vista. You need to go into the control panel and change your resolution to the size you want. This makes the items on the screen smaller/larger. You need to decide what size is best for you.
(Once you are in the control panel, click on the NVIDIA contol panel button, it will bring up a screen that says select a task, click on change resolution, where it says display resolution slide it to where you want.)
I hope this fixes your problem.

1.
Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.
2.
Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply.
Anything higher than 1024 × 768 should be good.
Here are instructions from Microsoft.

Ha-ha, Gabe, you win cupcakes and feet kissing.
What kind of cupcakes do you like?
Oh man, before when I was trying to fix it, I went to the last part and moved the bar and was not sure what size(thinking this would fix it) but I never hit apply. lol
Thanks a million! What a relief!
