Default Where do find Washing Soda at

You would think it would not be this hard, right. This city must be hiding it. I've been to Kmart, CVS, the hardware store (found the Fels soap there) and went to Wal-mart tonight looking for it. Zippo. Looked in the laundry detergent isle.

I have everything to make homemade laundry detergent, but this!

Any other places to check? I have not checked the grocery stores yet. TIA

I couldn't find any here at all either, so I use Oxiclean and it works great!!

Nope, don't have those stores here. This weekend sometime I will check out a few grocery stores though. Thanks.

I found it at the grocery store as well with the laundry stuff, usually by the other additivies, such as bleach. I also second the person you said a pool supply store. These use it for the ph of pools as well although I have no clue if the price is the same but you can find the same exact thing. It can be called soda ash as well and like the pp said make sure it's 100% sodium carbonate and you're fine! You can also talk to your local grocery store about ordering some. The supplier that they get their other stuff from usually has it and they just aren't ordering it. I have a friend that asked the manager of a grocery store (not chain one) and they ordered it and started carrying it in a small quanitity for her.

This link takes you to the Kroger Home Page. It shows all the store names they use around the country. Possibly one is in your area and will have Washing Soda.

You can always ask the manager of your local store to stock it for you.

I found it locally at Giant Foods. The local WM and Target don't carry it. I know what I'll be stocking up on.

I tried to find it thru their website but no luck. Other websites do offer it so you will be able to find it online.

I agree with checking your grocery stores. I can usually find it at any one of a number of grocery stores I shop at, but none of the WM, Targets, etc. around here carry it.

I found mine at Harris Teeter (grocery store). I've also seen it listed on Amazon.

    1. You can always ask your local grocery store to order it for you. Just make sure they know it is WASHING soda, not baking soda.

    2. Arm & Hammer used to send it - free shipping - if you ordered 3 boxes. Check on-line for a phone number or more information. The phone number I had in my file is: 1-800-524-1328.

    3. As Kai3410 mentioned, check pool places or pool supplies at K-Mart/Wal-Mart, etc., for sodium carbonate (aka Soda Ash). It's probably less expensive than buying Arm & Hammer.

I found mine at the grocery store. It's in the same area as the pretreaters, dryer sheets and stain removers. I think it helps to check warehouse stores too because that's sort of what my grocery store is.
