    Default Ice Cream with Heavy Cream

    I was given 12 quarts of heavy cream. Can I use it to make ice cream? All of my recipes so far say to use light cream/ half & half/ or regualr milk.

    I don't think it would matter besides adding more fat into the ice cream. Whenever we go camping and make coffee can ice cream we always use heavy cream, and that's just using a basic vanilla or chocolate recipe.

    I don't know about the ice cream but LUCKY YOU for getting the cream!
    That is a lot!

    (course your dr. might disagree with me about it being a lucky thing)

    Ice cream, butter, whipping cream, on hot cereal, cinnamon roll filling, caramels,.......oh yum!

    You all were so right! The raspberry ice cream turned out GREAT! So good that I have to make up something new today. Lucky me I've got plenty of cream.
