mixing coffee?
I bought two large containers of Folgers awhile back when it was on sale. I recently opened one and found it is very mild flavor.
Can I get a stronger coffee and mix with the mild? Will it improve the flavor or would I be wasting my time and money trying to fix this?
I hate to not use what I got on sale but unless I can improve the taste I know it will be wasted. If You Find Yourself Dancing In The Rain

I have done the same thing to rescue sale bought coffee that was too weak. It may take some experimentation to get the right mix to suit your taste.

Sure you can, I mix coffee all the time. I like flavored coffee as well but it can be rather pricey so I mix half regular and half flavored sometimes or half regular and half decaf .

We mix coffee all of the time. We love french roast but lately it's been hurting our stomachs, so we mix it w/regular coffee. Still has that french roast taste just not as strong. Also, we have a weakness for starbucks coffee and it is really expensive. I can find it sometimes at our salvage grocery store for $2.99 a bag. We mix it w/regular folgers to stretch it out.

I do it all the time, what works best for me is to dump both cans in a mixing bowl (a big bowl) and stir them up. I use the same size cans and fill them both back up. I often mix really cheap off brand coffee in with DH's starbucks
He has never noticed. I grind up his starbucks all at once and fill an old folgers can , he has not caught on yet that it is only have starbucks. Sometimes less.

I never make a regular pot. I mix 1/2 regular and 1/2 vanilla for every pot.

Thanks for all the input from y'all. I took 1/2 of weak coffee and added same amount of a strong coffee. It turned out pretty good. Now, for the other 1/2 I may add a flavored coffee. I've never done that but I like the idea. Once again, thanks to all who replied.

We mix "cheap" and "expensive" coffee all the time! I buy good bagged coffee when it is on sale (usually the flavored kind), and then I stock up on folgers or hills bros when it is on sale.
I have a coffee canister that sits on my counter near my coffee pot, that holds just over 2 cups of grounds. So I add 1 cup of regular and 1 cup of good grounds, then I shake it up and it's ready to go when I want coffee, so I dont' have to get out 2 canisters in the morning. Becuase that would just be too much work before I drink my coffee!
You could also flavor it yourself, which wouldn't change the tenacity of the coffee, but would add some extra flavor. Get a vanilla bean, put a slit in it and pop it into the coffee canister, or use a cinamon stick. Just put it in the canister and let it sit for a few weeks and the grounds will soak up the flavor.
