Which Survey Sites are Legit?
does anyone do online surveys that pay? Which sites are legit and send you actual surveys that pay cash instead of entries to monthly sweepstakes?
Any help would be appreciated! I'm trying to build up my "found money".

The only survey site I ever did was Pinecone but it's hard to get in to. They use to pay $5 a survey, plus another $5 for product testing but last year they changed it to $3 and it just wasn't worth the time I had to spend on it so I quit. The best I ever did was $5 on a survey then $10 on the product test and then another $5 on the follow-up survey. That only happened once in 3 years. I like doing MyPoints. You earn points for reading emails and shopping online through them, they have hundreds of stores you can shop from. Once you earn enough points you can turn them in to get gift cards from restuarants, book stores, clothing stores etc.. I'm not familiar with many survey sites but I hope this helped.

InBox Dollars pays .50/survey and .02/email, but it is hard to qualify for the surveys. They do post new surveys daily, and you can try multiple surveys, but it sometimes takes 30-40 mins for one survey, and that seemed like a lot of time for fifty lousy cents for me.
I use it because you can also get a percentage of your purchase price back if you go through InBox to do your on-line shopping. I use it whenever I purchase anything from eBay, Overstock.com, Macy's, etc. There are quite a few choices, shopping-wise, if you shop on-line.

I forgot to mention I also do InBox Dollars and madhen is right about the surverys being hard to qualify for. I'm tired of spending 10 minutes answering questions and then being told I don't qualify. I've noticed I'm getting the same thing with MyPoints surveys. Once I get enough $$ from InBox Dollars to get another check I'm going to quit it also.

Not to mention that Inbox takes a large amount ($5, I think) in "processing" from your check.

I also do global test market. They send a lot of surveys that I don't qualify for, but you still get 5 points (about $0.25) when you don't qualify, typically 50 points for completing ($2.50) You need 1000 points to cash out, which can take a while, but they do pay.
I have mypoints, but takes forever to get anything because I don't shop. Although if you are with bzzagent, they pay in mypoints now for their surveys.

I've been doing surveys for about 8 years now. While I go through periods where I am better about doing them everyday, my best year ever I only cleared $210. That's cash, not prizes or product tests.
MyPoints - very easy to get gift cards. It doesn't take a lot of time to click on the stuff, and I spend about 5 minutes a week.
MySurvey - 1000 points = $10 check. I generally cash out from there every three months
Viewpoint Forum - Surveys are rare (for me) but the payout is pretty big. I've cleared $100 from this site in the last 2 years.
Synovate - They used to be mostly sweepstakes, but converted to a points system. I generally can sash of for $20 every 5 or 6 months.
Lightspeed - I rarely qualify, but they have the most interesting surveys. Cash out is via rewards or Paypal (not checks).
These are my favorites. I found that many sites cater to certain segments - after my son was born and I updated my profile, certain sites had a lot more surveys and some had a lot less. Same thing when we bought our house. My strategy has been to sign up with every survey site out there, and after a few months I can figure out if it's worth if for me or now.
Other sites I have been paid/received rewards from:
Harris Interactive
ZoomPanel
Testspin
SurveySpot
Your2Cents (now Toluma)
Socratic Forum
SurveySavvy
American Consumer Opinion Panel (ACOP)
Sites I personally dislike:
GreenfieldOnline
PSB (I has to report this site to the Better Business Bureau to get my payment)
Pinecone (I got kicked out for no reason, they just told me that they deleted my account)Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06) and Oliver Andrew (5/25/12)

I do many survey/reward sites. Some are better than others of course. Here's an awesome site that helps you sort the good from the bad and then you can go from there....

I use mypoints. I've got enough points saved up to get a couple of $50 gift cards. I'm going to use them to beef up my stockpile.
