Those that don't have land lines and just cell phones
I've had high speed AT@T internet and home phone forever, so pardon my stupid question. My home phone and net are billed together. Is there a way if I wanted to get rid of the land line to save money and still have dial up and would it be cheaper? How does that work if you don't have a phone. Is it like Comcast with the cables? I haven't searched this stuff forever, so I am not sure what's out there.
Here AT@T offers something new with their own cable now(we have Dish)phone and net service together for one price but it doesn't come out cheaper by no means.
I have no problem with my net service, but if I could find a cheaper deal with no land line and just our cell phones, that would be nice.
Hope that made sense.

We don't have a landline. We use cable for our internet. It is kind of expensive but I love how fast it is. So it isn't saving us much money. But at least we don't have a $48 land line phone bill every month.

Our land line including the net, caller ID package and call waiting(5 bucks extra for this) runs us around 78 bucks a month.

I don't have a cell phone, I don't like them.
Tony has one and it is part of his ear..HA HA
I like my landline and will keep it.
I am $69 a month for DSL high speed internet and phone.
I don't have cable, it doesn't run to my house so I have DirectTV which is cheapest package of $60 month.
My brother just got rid of his landline just last week. They all use cell phones and he has cable so the internet just keeps coming thru the cable company.
I wonder also if you cancel your phone, can you still get internet thru the phone company?
Give them a quick call, tell them you want to cancel the landline but keep the internet....see what they say???

We have a landline and internet from Verizon. The internet is high speed for $14.99/month for a lifetime (I got a good deal). So if I cancel my phone line I can't have the internet. But we did cut down our phone package from $56 plus taxes to $26. We have a plan that keeps a phone line in. People can call us but we cannot use that phone to call out. We use our cellphones anyway. This way we can keep our landline for 911 emergencies and internet. It may not seem like a big savings , but we never used the landline anyway.....

I got rid of my landline phone a few months ago and went to cell phones. Through Verizon I have 3 phones and 4 lines under a family plan: (1) for the house, got to keep the same old land line number. I have little kids who just learned the number, so that was important. (2) phones for DH and me. Plus a laptop card for high speed internet. Unlimited call times for the phones, plus the internet for about $150. I do love the speed of that card, beats dial-up any day.

I'm going to answer your question from another direction...
After 3 years of ONLY a cellphone, two weeks ago, we got a landline. We only did this because of internet connection. See, I tried just having the connection through my cellphone ($30 a month extra) but I was the only one able to access it, & only through my phone. I looked into options without a landline, & because I don't have cable, my only option was an air-card ($60 a month.) We ended up opting for a landline-internet package (required to have the landline) from the only provider in our area, for $60 a month. Now we have a landline again - AND wireless in my home, so DD is able to do her online homework (that we were blindsided with last year!)
