Where is your favorite spot in your home?
Just curious. My favorite spot in my home is sitting at my kitchen table. My table is long and rectangle and with the two leaves in it, I can comfortably fit 10 people around it. Our chairs for now are just folding card table chairs because I have not found the 'perfect' chairs yet.
Our kitchen table is solid walnut. I actually found it at a garage sale on my wedding day...yep after my bridesmaids, my Mom and I finished getting our hair done for the wedding we stopped at a couple garage sales on the way back to my FIL's house. We badly needed one more table for the reception (our reception was outside) to hold the cake. It cost a whole $10!!! So I paid for it, called a friend, they picked it up and delivered it to the tent where our cake was proudly displayed in the middle of the table.
Everyone kept asking where we got the table and couldn't believe that the 'girls' picked it up that morning garage saling. Now friends and family gather around that special table. Many memories have already been made sitting around it.
So I was wondering...where is your favorite spot in your house? Is it a room in your home or a certain chair? Our home is our sanctuary from the outside world. We are safe in our homes but where is your most favorite spot?Dh Bob

It depends upon the weather, my mood and the time of day.
I love sitting in the rocker in my bedroom in the mornings. I like sitting in the homeschool room when the traffic is busy. Cool after noons are great at the patio table. I looooove the sunroom on dark, rainy days...

I love my kitchen. A friend who is a CKD designed it for me after watching how I work in there and what I like to do. So it is customized for me, but is not custom cabinetry. I enjoy the creativity that goes on my kitchen and how others gravitate there.
And now I am moving, and I mourn the loss of this very special place. I hope the next family in this house enjoys it as much as I do.Spiritual:

Awww, FHG, your story made me feel so bad for you having to leave the most favorite spot in your home. I am sure the next family will come to love it as much as you do and I hope that your new kitchen will make you feel just as comfy.

I love sitting at the island counter in our kitchen. It's where my laptop is, and it's a center of activity. There's always someone in and out of the kitchen, so I'm never alone. The chair is actually not too bad in the comfort department, either. So, I'd have to vote right here, where I'm sitting, as my favorite place.

In my livingroom in my big leather recliner. Its known as Moms chair. Everything I need is right there, my laptop, phone, tv, yarn, sewing basket and I can see everything that is going on in the backyard from there because it is in a direct line to the backdoor so I can see what the kids are doing when they are out there.

in my living room... It's the center of the home and I can survey all the goings on of the house from my recliner. =D

I love our master bedroom - it is calm and quiet. It's my getaway to curl up with a book or listen to music or create.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I have two spots but one I don't get to as often as I would like.........
the main one that I spend a lot of time is my recliner. The chair has heat and various vibrations and I use the heat A LOT. It has 'my nest' made beside it. A three shelf table holds all the makings of 'my nest'...everything from magazines, to back scratcher, to hand held games, to FOOD!
The other one is my basement where all my hobby stuff is, but I don't get down there much in the summer. I just walk into the room and the creative juices start flowing. Can spend HOURS down there.

I'd have to say it's my bed/bedroom. I love my bed and that room is my get away place. I have a tv back there so I can watch what I want, when I want(after being married for 15 years and him having control of the remote all the time I finally got my own tv and satellite box LOL). The bed is where I curl up to read, where I fold clothes, where I have talks with the kids, where dh and I discuss things, where I talk on the phone, etc. There is nothing fancy about the room at all, it's a huge mess most of the time. But it's my relaxing place!

My kitchen is my favorite room, but it is small. I
would spend much more time there if it would
hold a table!
So, I guess my favorite spot would be in the big
oversized chair in my living room. It is wide
enough that I can curl my legs up in it. There
is a table next to it with books, magazines, and
a laptop. A victorian lamp is there for reading.
It's really cozy. You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.

My favorite spot is on my deck or porch and my bedroom. My porch was screened in but a couple storms took some of the screens out. *grumble* It's fun to be able to grill in the rain though.

Hum.. I'm not sure yet, I will have to think about this. I don't really have one favorite room. I guess, it would be more like a level, (we have a split-level home). The entry level, because
Kitchen- I love to cook for my family
Dining Room- This is where we gather with friends and family, and now it's more special, because I have my late df solid oak dining room set.
And last my living room, this is where my laptop, books, and my sewing area is.2010 Challanges:

It's "my" room. All my 'stuff' is here. Basket weaving supplies hanging from picture hangers on the wall, loom, sewing machine, yarns for weaving and knitting, fabric stash. My musical instruments, accordion and bass guitar are here, and a bookcase for craft books, heirloom cookbooks, and music are here. Ideas, both bright and not-so-bright, are conceived here. And the dog sleeps here, too.
