How do I store crab apple liquer??
I made homemade crab apple liquer but now I have no idea if I can just put into clean jars in the cupboard or do I have to process it in a water bath or should I just keep it in the fridge. Help!!!!

You just made my day!! I have a neighbour who made the same suggestion! LOL!!
I figure because it is mostly vodka I should be able to leave it in the cupboard, but I have no experience with liquers especially homemade ones. I really don't want to ruin it, I'm using it for some xmas presents this year.

OMG!!!
And vodka is my preference!
Then...if you won't take my first suggestion....(YOU SILLY GIRL).......THEN........let me ask........am I on your Xmas list???
I think it should keep on the shelf......does it have anything in it that could potentially poison people?.....(well, besides the vodka!!). The only one I have had to refrig. is one that had eggs in it.........and I quit making that when all the flack about raw eggs started.

Crabapple Liqueur
1 (4-quart) mason jar with tight-fitting lid
4 quarts crabapples, washed, cored and quartered
4 cups granulated sugar
3 cups vodka
Fill mason jar with prepared crabapples.
Add the 4 cups of sugar and 3 cups of vodka.
Store the jar on its side, turning once every day for 16 days to help the sugar to dissolve.
After 16 days, filter out the fruit bits and bottle.
Makes 1 quart.
Note: Instead of crabapples, you can also use chokecherries with scotch, or raspberries with rum.
Here is the recipe I used. The only thing I think might be a problem would be the juices that came from the apples. But I have no idea.

Oh, YUM! I think all that alcohol would prevent any danger of spoiling. If you're unsure, I too would be willing to test it for you.

Well, I have strawberry liqueur that I made in, um, 1992 that is still in my cupboard and is still fine, if by fine you mean has not spoiled. It got really dark and a little bitter from age, though.
