So you want to learn to play a musical instrument?
I've taught piano & guitar for 25 years, from ages 4 to 74, and I'd like to encourage anyone here who has always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument to just GO FOR IT.
Ask around in your community or school about music instructors or just walk into your nearest music store, and get the info about taking lessons. They have a list of teachers: some are pro teachers, others are student/teachers. JUST DO IT.
Adult music students often do quite well, because most of them are willing to learn, follow instructions and make the committment to practice their instrument.
Be prepared to stick with it for a couple of years or so, because once you're past the beginner stage, you'll be able to play not just the simple, but even more complex pieces of music because of the knowledge gained in technical skills.
