Two of my grandkids call me Greemaw and the other two call me Gringaw. The oldest of the bunch when he learned to talk called me Greemaw and the rest followed or adapted their own spin. Sigh! I wanted them to call me Granny. LOL
Oh by the way --their ages are now 29, 25, 19 and 18 !

I don't have any grandkids but my son has lots of grand-parents and great-grandparents.
Wesley calls my husband's dad and stepmom Grandma and Grandpa Wally, because of their dog Wally. (He came up with this one). He calls my mom and dad gramma and grampa. He calls my husband's mom and stepdad grandma and Poppa.McD

When my parents in law first becamse grandparents they were only 47 and they refused to be called opa and oma (Dutch for Grandpa and Grandma) because they said that that was only for old people.
(BTW they still say that even though that are now 80.)
So my sil's kids grew up calling them by their first names.
When our kids came along we were more traditional and insisted that they be called at least something resembling opa or oma.
So my Dutch parents in law decided that they liked the English grandpa and grandma.
Maybe you can use the Dutch version Opa and Oma.*Avril*

My nephew called my mother "Wo-wo". We think he was trying to say Wanda because he heard others calling her that.
To avoid a wierd name, I decided to try to get my granddaughters to call me something that sort of sounded like my name - Jean.
So they call me Gigi.
