    Default Uses for newspaper bags

I am about to give up the paper route I have. (will probably regret it later, but the 3 am wake up is killing me) And I have a box FULL of the plastic bags the papers go in. Not the smaller skinnier daily bags, but the 9" wide sunday bags and I am trying to find a use for them so they don't go to waste. I had to pay almost $30 for the box and only used a few per day so I still have tons 8 months later. I already keep a few in my car to throw out trash, etc but was hoping to come up with some more ideas.

I use mine for the kitty litter box and for the wastebasket in the washroom.

You could bend a coat hanger wire into a circle. Then cut the bags into strips. Tie on coat hanger to make a wreath. Perfect for the outside.

A cooking show I was watching showed how to turn a turkey over using oven mitts. They placed plastic produce bags over the mitts. Keeps the mitts clean.

I also use the bags to wipe out greasy pans instead of paper towels. If I have something more liquid to throw out I will put it in a plastic produce bag then throw out.

We use them to slide a paint roller (or paint brush) into to either keep it from drying out between coats of paint, or to grab onto to remove a paint roller to toss into the trash when we're done and can't reuse the roller.

I would avoid using them with food unless you are sure they are food-grade bags. http://lancaster.unl.edu/food/ftsep04.htm

I'd also try to sell them to another person who delivers papers.

I have used them in car to put wet umbrela in to keep from getting water on seats and floor.

I know you probably have tons of rags from salvaging discarded worn out clothing, right?!

Those bags are the perfect size to fill with rags and keep.. in the trunk, in the garage, in the basement, etc.

No matter what you wrap your meat in first for the freezer, these could make a good second layer, taped shut to prevent freezer burn.

I second the idea of selling them to another newpaper carrier. Seems so you could get most of your money back this way.

I also like the idea of using them as the outside layer for freezing food.

When I stayed with a friend who got the newspaper delivered, we'd use them to hold dirty diapers while out for the baby and to hold lunches - your juice box, wrapped sammy inside and a fruit, Perfectly portable and less bulky.

I also would try to sell them first. Try another newspaper person and or a crafts show person - sounds like the right size for someone who sells smaller craft items but never seems to have enough used shopping bags? Post an ad for a nearby craft show offering them for sale - or try a vendor in a flea market...they may be interested as well.

If you don't have a dog you can probably find new homes for your bags at the local human society. Volunteer dog walkers have to clean up after the dogs they walk, especially if they take the dogs off of humane society property. (K, they did at our human society anyway.)

Looks like there are lots of good ideas for them here.

I use the skinnier ones for dog poop......doubling them.

Like some of the ideas listed here......
