Cover for card table.
My kitchen is very small. It is well planned out though so that
I have enough storage. It is counter space that I am lacking.
I do alot of things on a card table.
The card table has sort of a fake leather like top. I would
really like to convert this top or cover it with something that
I could use mainly to roll out cookie, noodle & pie dough. It
wouldn't have to be permanent. I could put something on it
when I needed it for dough and use it just for that purpose.
Any suggestions what I could cover it with or place on top of
it to use for dough preparation? What materials work well for
dough that will keep it from sticking? I have a dough cloth; it
just isn't as large as I would like, and they tend to move around.
Thanks! You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.

You can make a solid framed top that sits over the entire table top and is covered with Formica. A nice do-it-yourself project.

Great idea Grainlady - and she could, if she wanted to, make it larger to expand her space.
You could also buy the thick clear plastic that is sold by the yard and roll it up when not using it.

How about a pastry cloth...
A pastry cloth provides a handy and durable way to roll out dough for piecrusts, cookies, or pizza. Such cloths have been used for at least a century, and to many they’re essential in the kitchen, and much easier to use than marble or wooden boards. They are undoubtedly simpler to use than plastic wrap or wax or parchment paper, and since you can reuse the cloth many times, they’re an eco-friendly kitchen tool.
You use the pastry cloth just as you would a board or plastic wrap. After placing the cloth on an even surface, add a little flour so the dough doesn’t adhere to the cloth. Add the dough, with perhaps a little flour on top, and roll out. If you’re rolling out circular dough, you may find it convenient to turn the cloth instead of the rolling pin to create near perfect circles.
