Need Recipe like Sagebrushs side corn dish for my Thnxgvg Menu
Hi everyone! Back for just a second. Beyond swamped - but still trying to squeeze in plans/recipes/shopping in advance, for special moments of the holidays. So, I got stuck on this one, and need some help.
Sagebrush used to (but no longer) serves a side dish that had corn in it. It tasted like smooth cornbread, was mushy like stuffing, but had no 'chunks' of cornbread. It was more like mashed potaoes than compared to pudding. It was not a dessert, it was a side dish served often with lunch specials. Searched "Corn Pudding" recipes, and found that wasn't it.
Does any one remember it and know the name of this dish, or better yet, the recipe? Thought about adding it to Thxgvg Menu.
PS: I've already checked 'scribd.com' for Food Chain Recipes - it wasn't there either. Thanks.Last edited by Deprived4TooLong; 11-18-2009 at 01:09 PM. Reason: to add where I've already searched to avoid redundency in peeps responses

Was it very smooth, like cream of wheat? That would be polenta, or what we used to call "corn meal mush" or "creamed grits".

It was more like Corn Meal Mush, lol. It tasted and had the texture of cornbread. Thanks for your response though, I bet it could be made with Polenta and flavored or spiced up to taste similar.
From the lack of responses, I'd say I have to call Sagebrush. We were regulars during lunch break. I'll ask the chef I guess. He told me 4 yrs ago, but I'm sure if its a new cook, they'll be clueless since it was discontinued on the menu.
Thanks again, Contrary
