OK, this is what I do with my coupons...what do you do?
What I do takes a lot of time on the front end, but saves me time overall, I think. I keep dreaming about using our barcode reader, but haven't gotten there yet.
Do you index your coupons so you know what you have? I do.
I put in a data base:
exp. date, product, amount
11/30/09 good earth tea x x 1.00
(The x's mean I have 2 copies)
if the coupon is on 2 or more that in the desc.
good earth tea on 2
I got here after writing lists by hand, sorting by type, clipping (I use the full pages).
Got any ideas that you think would be faster?
TIA --

I use the coupon mom website and a small coupon binder. In her website you can also search for products to see if a coupon is in the weekly coupon circulars.

I use a coupon binder. I don't use alot of coupons. I don't buy prepacked foods. I make my own cleaning and laundry products. Most use coupons for paper products.

If I'm reading this right, and I might not be, I think you are asking how to make a list to know exactly what coupons you have and the info to each.
If you have Microsoft Office you can type in each coupon and the info for each. After you are done you can do the toolbar and click alphabetical order and Office will alphabetize them for you. Save the list and as you use, they expire etc you can just delete them. Also as you add you can just put them in the bottom and click alphabetize them again. Print and you're good to go. ( Put a comma after each as they are finished)
Example
Betty Crocker Brownies $1 off 2 exp 11/30/09,
Star Kist Tuna .50 off 1 exp 01/15/10,
This may sound like a lot of typing but once done the first time you will never have to type/write a full one again. Just delete and/or add.
I carry mine in a box ( usually shoebox that fits in hold a kid part of cart ) with index cards. All like are paperclipped together alphabetical in right category. Betty Crocker has her own index tab as does General Mills. Coupons that come out often has their own. Saves that "ok is it under frozen or under vegetable". If it's Green Giant then it's under Green Giant. Period. Hope this helps or gives you an idea or two.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

I use a binder and check certain websites that matches up coupons to the sales at the different stores.
If I want to know how many of each coupon I have I just look in the binder. Once every few weeks I go through and pull out the expired ones.
Using the websites CouponMom and SouthernSavers is a much easier way for me to go.DD (19)

I guess I worded this badly, sorry...I use a binder too.
What I was asking is IF you do an index or how do you know what coupons you have? I do an index on a computer already, it seems to take a lot of time. I'm trying to find an alternate way to do this that perhaps won't take as long?

I keep each weeks inserts (I get three papers) in gallon size ziploc bags with the Sunday date on them. I don't pre-cut any of them. I use couponmom.com (free) and match the sales at my store and just cut them as I need them. Takes minimal time.

I cut the list of upcoming coupons for the week (from one of the sites that shows the coupon insert previews) and paste into an Excel workbook worksheet that I can search. I check the store ads and the sites where the store deals are discussed. When I see something in the ads that I want to get, I just search the worksheet (FIND function) to find the coupon in the list (and determine which insert it is in), then I can go the correct coupon insert and cut out the actual coupons.
