A question about houseplants
I'm looking for a low light houseplant that's safe for my cats. Any ideas?
Thanks~~~

plastic.....hahaha...(i'm sorry...i couldn't help myself....)....
can't help with the plant but i can offer by putting small river rocks around the base of the plant covering the soil they won't be able to dig it up....
and also once you figure out the plant..if they start to chew on it...sprinkle the leaves with blk pepper...(makes em sneeze and then they hate the plant).....

I don't know a huge amount about houseplants, but before I buy a plant I always check online to see if they are toxic to cats. Off the top of my head I know that spider plants, african violets, boston ferns, umbrella plants and rubber plants are non-toxic and safe to have around pets.
The Cat Fancier's association has a pretty extensive list of both toxic and non-toxic plants. It might be worth while to google them and print out the list before you go shopping.

The couple that I was going to mention were on the list.....so the only other one I can come up with is bamboo.
You see it being sold now as "lucky bamboo" (don't trust it, I have two and it hasn't worked yet!!).......it will grow in water or dirt. The more you water it (to an extent) the faster it grows. I have one touching the ceiling - the pot sits on the floor. It is my beanstalk!!
Here is a pretty good website for info that might help:

I have aloe vera and pothos, and a couple christmas cactus. They are cat safe and survive on very little light. I tend to avoid spider plants, as I have never met a cat who would not chew on them.
