Any Luck Posting things on ebay?

I have never sold on ebay or CL, but now that I have internet again I would like to try. Does anyone know whether I must have a photo of items that I wish to sell or can I do well by just posting my sellables with a description?? Thanks!

The internet is very much a visual thing once someone has typed in what they are looking for. If there is a choice between your item without a picture and another item with a picture, you would most likely lose out. You could try to borrow a digital camera from someone. You don't have to have the latest and greatest digital camera to sell on eBay.

Buyers/bidders like to see pictures you have taken versus a "stock" photo. Also in an auction setting, your item would get less bids than an item with pictures. So your item would most likely sell for less (if at all).

I am a big time internet buyer. There were ads/listings that say email for pictures or just had descriptions with no pictures. I just clicked through them and moved on. There were plenty of listings out there WITH pictures. I didn't want to waste my time emailing and asking and waiting for pictures.
