Could you please help me on my assignment?
I really could use your help in regards to a paper I am writing for an essay on Euthanasia or Assisted Suicide. What are some good arguments that are I could use for Pro Euthanasia or Assisted Suicide? Unless you have better arguments for Con Euthanasia or Assisted Suicide? I am having difficulty so far I have some good ones about religion but I am unable to think of anything else.

Have you visited DrGrumpy.com? Cuz' unless you've lived it, I don't know that you can form an opinion.
He has - I've lived thru someone dying and not wanting to.
Are you wanting personal experience? Major arguments?
Religion will always have an opinion, even if it isn't something they feel / know.

Major Arguments
I am looking for major arguments and personal experiences. I have lived through some of it but it was 15 years ago when I was much younger than I am now. My essay needs to be Persuasive, therefore I need to form an opinion.

I kind of get the feeling you don't have an opinion of euthanasia of your own at the moment.
What was your opinion 15 yrs ago? Has it changed? Once you have an opinion it might be easier to develop a persuasive argument than just getting others input.
You might want to take a look at euthanasia from different perspectives:
medical
ethical
social (on a large scale)
familial (the small scale)
financial
Do you have different opinions of euthanasia thinking in those different aspects?
It sounds like it might be a tough one to write. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

if this is for an ethics class or similar I would advise not using religion as a reason. Religion is an opinion, reasons are based on facts...
at least in the view of a logic/ethics professor.

You are probably better able to navigate the i-net than I......but Washington state just passed it-- just over a year ago.........see if you can get some of the archives for what was said in them. Oregon also has it..........assisted suicide I mean.
Good luck...........would be interested to hear what you come up with..........

Fifteen years ago or longer
Well I do have an opinion I believe I am for it just in some aspects of it but others I am against it. When I was 14 years old I had an opinion, I didn't like seeing my favorite uncle blithering away to almost nothing it was difficult to see him go he has been gone for 15 years, I think about every so often. When I was 8 my mom had cancer, I know I was too young to form an opinion considering the only thing I knew was I didn't want her to die she was all I had. She is still alive to this day. Wow so far you all have been a great help.

My opinion is if the person is of sound mind - they should have the right to die peacefully if they so choose.
When pain medicaton can't work any longer - they have no quality of life - and they are expected to die
why can't they control their own ending?
This way they know exactly when they have to say good-bye
The death will still be hard for those left behind-but they will know their loved one had their last wish.

I would use some insurance company statistics about costs for termainally ill patients close to the end of life. I certainly wouldn't want it forced on anyone, but I do think some people will want to be free to choose the circumstances of their deaths.
