Default Best Eight O' Clock Coffee flavor?

As strange as this sounds.....here we go...

What's the best Eight O' Clock coffee flavor/variety? I know this is subjective, but, considering that I like the darkest/strongest roast, which do you think I'd prefer? The reason I ask? Publix often has the 12 oz. bags BOGO at $4.99. Using a $2/2 coupon on this, I buy it for $1.50 a bag. Now we don't go through a lot of coffee at home, since I only make it on the weekends. Which is why, when I DO make it, I want it to be good darnit! LOL. Plus, I drink it black. So I can't really hide the taste behind anything if it sucks. The last time (and first time really) I got it, I tried 2 flavors; Italian & Hazelnut. The Italian was great, I'm definitely getting another bag. The Hazelnut? Well...we'll just say it was 'weak.' So I'm going to grab another 2 bags and want to try another flavor. Which should I try?

I don't usually drink this brand, but I look for French roast, Italian roast is probably similar or perhaps a bit closer to espresso. I sometimes buy the ALDI Beumont brand French roast, that's quite good, so is the Trader Joe's.

We drink the original in the red bag and the French vanilla in the yellow bag. I think DH has tried the Colombian and French roast and liked them, too.

The dark Italian roast was too strong for us and we haven't tried the Bokar, mocha or hazelnut.

I like the Italian, DH loves the 100% columbian. I'm with you, the stronger the better!

With breakfast we had their original (red bag) 100% Arabica whole bean coffee. We enjoy it.

I see this brand often in the grocery store and never seem to buy it. Does it come already ground or is it beans only in the bag? I don't have a coffee grinder - yet The last kinda coffee I bought was from the bulk store and ground it there - still need to save $ where I can. Oddly enough I think I like it better then brand name - I have no idea what the brand is - if any.

OP - why don't you mix the hazlenut with a bit of italian to give the hazlenut a stronger taste?

You can get it both ways, beans or ground. I probably would have done that but I opened and used the Italian bag first lol, so it was already gone by the time I opened the Hazelnut. I'm just not sure it would have helped it any, it was sooooo weak. It definitely tasted like hazelnut, and I think that's really the reason BF disliked it, not the fact it was too weak.

I may give this brand a try soon - if DF comes to visit, coffee goes fast otherwise I make it on wknds only for me and dad.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention - wasn't aware they had 'flavours'. I'm more of a dark fan but italian sounds yummy.
