Default What is the Magic ingredient in Dawn?

Over the years I have heard people sing the praises of Dawn dishwashing liquid and of course being in the UK, we don't have it here.

So my question is, what is the magic ingredient in it that seems to remove even prehistoric stains?

Anybody able to lead me to the ingredient list please?

Then maybe I can find a British equivalent............

    Thanks

The company doesn't list the ingredients for dawn

But I did find this: the secret grease cutting ingredient is petroleum.

When I Google "British equivalent of Dawn dishwashing" the net said that Fairy is close to Dawn Do you know what that is?

    Does that help?

Thanks for the comprehensive reply, I was just curious as the magical "Dawn" crops up on here time and time again.

Yes we have "Fairy" in the UK it is probably the most expensive/best known brand, though I did see some of the "original" stuff in the £ shop last week

Maybe I will have to try some, or failing that, add some alcohol to the stuff I use........I feel an experiment coming on

    Be careful with your experimenting.

Remember Chlorine Bleach can be very harmful if mixed with some ingredients.

Don't worry I was just thinking maybe alcohol as in rubbing type or something similar, I am not keen on bleach I do use it a little but I would never mix it with anything else, but thanks for the warning
