I don't really feel it's appropriate to contribute to the waste involved with creating those tiny bottles of shampoo to save myself .25. I also put my shampoo in a plastic bag to avoid the extremely rare chance the bottle comes open.

    Smile shampoo

Years ago I purchased an inexpensive pump bottle. Any shampoo samples, hotel bottles etc, go into the pump bottle. I learned a long time ago that I only needed a couple of pumps from the bottle to wash my hair. Not like the huge amount I used to use from a bottle. I have saved a ton of money by using this pump bottle. Just a suggestion!

I just keep them on hand to throw in a bag when we spend the weekend away from home. I wouldn't combine them.

I use them and have a "free" shower! lol Or I just use them for a change of smells. I do keep the bottles around in a basket in case we have company and they forget their things at home. Having teens in the house, someone is always sleeping over.

I also keep hotel/sample size lotion in my purse and one in my car. I'm not going to Target and spending $1+ on a sample size for my purse when I have ones at home!

It doesn't save me 25 cents. It saves me way more than that with the quarters to run the washer an dryer, the detergent, the stress, and trying to figure out how to wash and dry my suitcase.

The large size bottles of shampoo (which I use) do not fit in ziplock bags, unfortunately.

I used to do that and I'd get them at Christmas in my stocking. But I've since stopped traveling or to the places I do go, I already have bathroom stuff there so I just bring meds & clothes only.

Hehehe I refill the bottles so it may say Keri Lotion but its Vaseline inside. Hey if its hand cream and it works why would I tinker? I used to have friends stay over all the time but I've turned into a homebody now = less or no overnight visitors.

Do your larger bottles fit into a freezer sized zip bag? If you're carrying around larger bags...I'm assuming you're checking your luggage? I used to wrap them up in shopping bags or produce bags if I bought HBA items while away. Double bagging helps.

If they are unopened mini bottles, could you donate them to a local shelter? My aunt belongs to a women's group that collects those travel-sized bottles of personal hygene items (either ones that are purchased for the cause or ones that are collected when traveling and staying at different hotels). Once a year, they donate all these items to the local domestic abuse shelter. Many of the women and children who come there often leave their homes quickly and their personal care items are left behind.
That was one of my concerns. I like the idea of donating them to a shelter...I'd have to find one close to me.

Overall...I was hoping to dump them into an empty bodywash bottle and use when needed but feared being allergic to something and breaking out in hives/rashes OR smelling really bad.

I use the bottles in the hotel, as the restrictions on liquids on carryon luggage make it impossible to bring a lot. (If I am on vacation at any spot for any length of time, I will just buy a bottle wherever I am. Not enough for us when we are swimming or whatever every day). I do take the ones I've used, and even if not used. I donate them to our local PADS program - shelter program for homeless. Our church also collects them for other groups from time to time. When I stayed at really nice hotels - business travel - I made a point of bringing home the shampoo and soap to give to my mother - she just loved getting them. I also include a few shampoos and soaps with packages of clothing for our church's Christmas gift project - I tend to choose the elderly to provide a gift for - and if they cannot use it themselves, they can probably give them to another resident at the nursing home.

My husband travels and the maid told him whether they are used or not they have to be thrown away due to someone could do something to them. So take them and maybe give them to someone such as an elderly person to use.

They would probably fit in the 'bread bags' they are much bigger.......or they have a 2 gal. bag-- but that one can be hard to find......Safeway will sometimes carry them here.

The shampoo would be just the right size to refill a 'foaming' hand soap container.........pour it in.....fill with water.......and new scent.

I use bodywash in my foaming soap containers all the time. Don't like to use it in the shower as it makes the shower too slick.....dangerous.
