i tip - 20-25$ taped to my front door a week or so before christmas in a holiday card .
we live in a smal town and unless someone walked up to my door late that night . they wouldnt even see the card

if i tip them thru the newspaper they are stuck paying taxes on that tip and i dont think a once a year tip should be taxed by the gvt- they didnt provide the good service.

they are not really providing the same type of service as the UPS or USPS guy . they usually are low paid and dont get benefits because its not a FT job.,
Many do it as a second income on top of regular job which to me means they are working hard to make life work for them -provide for their family .

They are out at way too early AM hours for me ( 3-4 am to get the papers ready for delivery ) and my newspaper is always sitting on my front top step- summer winter snowstorm or rain - i really appreciat ethat because i like to read the paper early in the AM and the fact i dont need to get out in my yard to pick it up ( which they technically could just toss it in my yard to deliver it and consider it delievered ) deserves a thank you .

trash men - i dont tip because they get paid well in our town they get benefits - they get more paid days off them my dh does .
