Default Anyone got a dishwasher detergent recipe

I know I have seen them on here, but I just can't find them.

I found some Washing Soda in Harris Teeter the other day and couldn't resist getting a box. I already have plenty baking soda and borax.

Anyone got a good recipe that doesn't leave the white film but gets dishes clean?

I haven't tried this yet (still using my stockpiled Electrasol/Finish), but I do use white vinegar as a rinse agent.

    I use this one:
    1 cup borax

Here's a thread from Frugal Village, it may be the one you were looking for. Just typed in dishwasher detergent in search (towards the top of page), scrolled down and bingo. hth.

I just use equal amounts of washing soda and borax. I haven't tried using any vinegar, but I really don't think I need it. I've been using the homemade soap about 2 months.

I tried using the homemade in my dishwasher and it just was not working at all. My dishes were not getting clean and I was either having to run it again or hand wash. I've gone back to the cascade tabs with dawn because they work so much better. I use coupons when I can find them. I still use vinegar in the rinse cycle though.

I have used both commercial and homemade. I will post later if you want it, have to go get my binder. With both I need to spend the extra and do Lemishine or they come out with a film, it is my hard water
