Default How Many Lbs. of Potatoes.....

For those of you who have grown potatoes in trash cans - how many pounds of potatoes have you been able to grow in just 1 trash can, and how many eyes did you plant in the can? I am curious b/c I want to try this method. Thanks

I'm not sure, I have heard that if you layer them correctly, you can harvest as much as 100 pounds. I have also heard you can use trash bags for a container. I am definitely going to try this, My ground isn't the best here, and this seems like a great way to avoid pesky weeds. I can't wait until spring! : )

Wow...I can't wait to hear the answer. I've never heard of this method.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

We tried it one year, with no luck. We had dirt in some, and dirt and straw in others. I think there was 6 trash cans. They all had drain holes in the bottom and sides. We got a couple quarter size potatoes out of each can.

If you can get this to work I'll try it again, but now we just plant them in the ground.
