Default cheap food for hotel living?

I have recently relocated to another state to take a new job. The company is putting me up in a hotel for a month. So far I have been having bologna sandwiches for supper. Does anyone have good ideas for cheap eats? I have a small fridge and a tiny microwave in my room. Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Cup O noodles...not exactly healthy but cheap and easy to store in a hotel. Also can you do salads....pick up a head of lettuce and a few other on sale veggies.....you can also cook eggs in a microwave...scrambled eggs...soups just get a handcrank can opener at the dollar store and heat them up in the microwave

I cook many things in a microwave. You might want to invest in a small pyrex bowl and pyrex measuring cup so you can heat up food in the microwave. The measuring cup comes in handy to heat up water and pour into a mup for coffee or tea.

You can cook oatmeal, eggs, rice, veggies, sausage, etc. in the microwave. Try picking up some low salt canned soups, nuts and dried fruit to snack on. Cheese and crackers or popcorn is also great to snack on. I have even made pudding in the microwave. It might also mean you might go shopping for produce and dairy items twice a week. Picking up a blender might also help. You could make smoothies with bananas and canned fruit or hummus. Since it doesn't heat things up I do not see why the hotel would object.

Your issue is going to be cleanup, as the bathroom sink is not really suited to handle food waste and you must be careful not to clog it up and piss off the hotel management.

Tuna sandwiches, cut up raw veggies

You can put frozen veggies in the basket portion of the coffee maker, and run them through 2-3 cycles to cook them.

Given the limited prep and clean up area, I would look into some of the budget minded frozen meals.

I love those Ziploc steam bags. I've used recipes that come in the bag for omelettes, greek chicken with potatoes. I love them for steaming veggies. You can use them to cook about any meat

I would get the frozen dinners, low sodium. Minute rice can be made in the microwave, couple with frozen broccoli and canned chicken maybe.

If your freezer is small, which I'm guessing it is, you could get a cooler and keep it stocked with ice.

    Peanut butter & honey sandwiches...

Oh, and what about buying a small toaster? That would open up some other options...eggos, toast, toasted bagels, pop tarts, etc...

oh! I forgot that DH and I lived in a hotel for 6 weeks while he was at NCO academy for the military. We just moved overseas to England and I had student loans so we couldn't afford to eat out. So we bought a cheapy electric skillet and I was able to make some great meals on it. I'd cook on the skillet and we'd have leftovers for the next day or two.

Baked potatoes. Salads. Ditto the blender suggestion. You can make 'green smoothies' which another user recently posted about; they sound gross but taste great (can't taste the greens) and are super healthy.

This is not exactly the answer you are looking for, but keep an eye out for local church suppers or clubs sponsoring bean suppers. You always get a lot of wonderful homemade food for little money and meet some nice local people at the same time.

We always try to do this when we travel, gives us the chance to meet the locals.

We also check out hospital cafeterias sometimes too, again healthy options for far less than you would pay at a restaurant!

My parents also did this when they lived in a hotel for a while when traveling for a job my dad had.
