Default Is this a good deal?

Just in time for grill season. Quarters, halves, or wholes are available for purchase. $1.12/lb live weight plus processing fee. You will end up paying around $400 to $450 per quarter by the time you pay me and the processing fee combined (180 lbs of meat per quarter).

We are considering buying a quarter and splitting it with my mom. We would get steaks, stew meat, roasts, and ground beef. I've never bought meat this way. Help! TIA!

IMO... No. Call around to other area butcher shops and ask what the going price is for a hind quarter, cut and packaged.
The average hanging weight is 150 -175lbs. Assuming a "high" (IMO) price of $1.90/lb that will run you at the most $333.

Now that should be a cut and wrapped price. No processing fee.

Just in case... It has been quite a while since I cut freezer beef so I may be off on this. But I would still check other places.
