If it looks similar to a ladder you could hang towels from it.

Do you have a picture you can post?

Since I have a pedestal sink and no cabinets in my bathroom, I use one to keep extra rolls of toilet paper in. Mine is metal and was white. However, my bathroom is done in Mickey Mouse so I painted it black to coordinate.

Put it in the bathroom and put extra rolled up towels in it.
Use in the kitchen for cookbooks.
Use outside for your potting tools.
Use inside or outside with flowers in it. Just sit pots of flowers inside.
If you have children use it for their favorite books for easy access.
Use it to store emergency items in...flashlight, candles etc.
Use it for car cleaning supplies to keep in one spot.
Use it for sheet storage in your bedroom or closet. Roll the sheets and pillowcases so you don't have wrinkles.
Use it in your craft room for rolls of wrapping paper, flowers, papers etc.
Use it in the kitchen for aluminum foil and such storage for quick access or even in your pantry for stockpiled foils, etc.
