    Default Tightwad Gazette bread recipe...

I used to have copies of all the Tightwad Gazettes and recently realized they've been misplaced somewhere.

In one of them is a simple bread recipe that didn't require you to let the bread rise for a long time. It was a quick bread recipe...

...anyone able to get this to me? I know it's from a book so I don't know if it's under copyright laws or something...but I had the book so I'm upset I can't find this recipe anywhere

This is a slightly different solution to the same problem - this recipe makes up to four loaves. You mix it up - no kneading, just stir it all together - and it can stay in your fridge for up to two weeks. Just bake it when you need it. I have made this and it is really quite good. 5 Minute Artisan Bread Recipe - Food.com - 325571

Yay, two great recipes! Thanks so much! Since we're on the subject of bread...any easy/cheap pizza dough recipes?

It was delicious but a little denser than I expected. I used wheat flour so that may be why.

The Cuban bread IS dense, no matter the flour content. . . great with stews, soups, etc.

What kind would you suggest as a light and airy bread, more like a sandwich bread?
