Anyone know of a good free diet website?
I think I may want to join a diet website. But I refuse to have to pay money for it. Does anyone know of a good free diet website?

I like Spark People. It has a lot of diet and exercise information, allows you to track your exercise and food, and you can have it create menus for you if you want. There are lots of members so you can find someone who is motivating to you. I'm not sure if it is what you meant by a diet site, though (such as Jennie Craig or Weight Watchers). It is free.

I use fitday.com. It is more of a tracking website than anything, you can track what you eat, how you feel, your measurements etc.

I love the support from people on Spark people. Also, the meal plans, calorie counters, grocery list, silly things like "spin the wheel to get points!" when you log in, its all very fun.
One day I went to a gathering of local people on there. It was totally out of my comfort zone to do that, I'm not super social, but the women were so nice! It was a lot of fun!
When I'm bored of my current meals I like to log in, plug in my calorie range, and see what meals they suggest.LDR

I have both Spark People and My Fitness Pal, but, I'm not super social either, so I kind of prefer the My Fitness Pal over Spark People. MFP is really simple and it has a iPhone application that I use daily to track my calories. I've lost ten pounds in six weeks of using it. Spark People is a nice site, too, lots of activity. Good luck on your weight loss project!

I love caloriecount.about.com. It's free, has calculators, plans, blogs, and a forum. I lost about 40 pounds on that site a few years ago. I did it slowly over the course of 6 months, so it wasn't grand weight loss, but it was steady. Unfortunately, I moved to the middle of nowhere, lost access to the YMCA, and no longer have a good place to walk (not dodging cars doing 60+ out on the highway), so ended up gaining a lot of it back. Did finally buy a treadmill, but like most treadmills, it's holding laundry that needs to be put away and a basket of stuff that needs to go to Goodwill.

Just thought I'd mention, in case you're interested, Weight Watchers has an online sign up for $1 til sometime in August.
I know that's spending money, and you didn't want to spend money, but I thought it may be worth $1 to you.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Thanks everyone. I joined Spark People. Need to log in to give my calories for the past two days. I forgot the name yesterday so didn't log in.
Just need something to get myself in gear again. Have had many excuses to not exercise or eat right since the winter. All started with it is to cold to walk outside. Needless to say I have numerous things I can do inside, counting online and dvd work outs, rebounder, small weights, and elastic bands.
Hoping this will motivate me to get healthier again. One thing helping the appetite is the heat. Only thing good about the heat right now.
