whats this painting worth
I purchased two paintings by the artist Wonsmos at a Estate sale this past August. But my husband does not like them, and wants to toss them or put them in the garage. I thought if I could find out that they are worth more that what I paid for them, it would change his mind. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Do you have any small galleries in your town? You could take them there and get them informally appraised. They could also probably recommend an inexpensive place to get them professionally appraised.

IMO if you bought them primarily because of what they might be worth then it's not worth arguing with your husband over whether or not to display them.
A gallery or antique store might give you a rough appraisal. but remember that they will buy it from you for much less than what it is "worth" if you were to sell it. And while it is in your home, if you are not getting any enjoyment out of them, the paintings only represent cash tied up in an object.Use it up, Wear it out,

Goodwill painting fetches $165,000
Although the news article is no longer available... the painting was a Wonsmos.
NOT saying that yours would be worth that much, but... it's worth looking in to

Thank you for the good advice. I purchased them because I thought they were the perfect size for the space that I needed to fill. And that they were very beautiful. Unfortunately for me, my husband and I do not have the same taste in art works. He prefers modern and I tend to like landscapes. I am sure if he sees that they have at least some value, he wouldnt want to toss them out.
