    Default hot water tank

After trying for a couple years I finally got DH to put in an electric hot water tank. He said how high the electric bill would be. Here is the comparison:

    Gas Bill
Before the tank---245.00 per month (summer)
    After the tank- 12.25

    Electric bill
    Before the tank 200-250.00 (summer)
    After the tank- 76.23

These are the actually meter readings. I was dumbfounded! We might actually be able to afford a little heat this winter lol

I'm a bit confused. Your electric bill shrank after adding an electric water heater? I understand how your gas bill would go down, that's obvious, but I don't understand how your electric bill would go down, too.

I also don't understand why this is in the Q&A forum, unless your question is the same as mine.

I was thinking about getting that blanket wrap. My water heater is in its own room. Is it still necessary?? I guess that the blanket will keep the heat in so it won't need to keep reheating. Am I correct in thinking this way??????
