Camera ideas needed
I have to get a couple of pictures took of my craftwork so that I can submit to a juried craft show this month. They have to be regular printed pictures. Not online.
I have a Mavica FD73 that I bought new back ,in 1999. It has a flat disk that I can access in my computer. So viewing online is no problem. I use imageevent for storing pictures at. I am not sure how to get printed pictures through them.
So I either need a image site to send to, that I can order prints through. Or I need a suggestion for a inexpensive CHEAP camera that I can take somewhere like Walmart and print myself. Which I no longer can do with the mavica disk. They phased that out.
Only reason I am thinking about a different camera, is maybe I should upgrade at some point it time. Any pictures that I have posted on this site, are all done with the Mavica. It might be old, but it still gets the job done

I have a Lumix camera which is considered mid-range as far as quality. It has a leica lens. Still looking at the features of the camera and many are the same as the high end (professional) cameras. It is a digital camera basically classified as a point and shoot. You can also take video with the camera. Definately worth it since it can take really quality professional pictures for what you need.

You can also upload your images to Shutterfly or Snapfish and order prints from them.

I'm a big fan of Canon cameras, even the basic ones are quite good. You can upload photos to Sam's Club too and they come in a matte finish that I prefer.
If you just need a few pics, I'd ask a friend to take the photos for you while you do your research into cameras in the meantime, before buying one.

While I'm not camera aficionado, this is one of the best cameras I've come across, considering the price:

My mother has an older version that I borrowed on my cruise, and the pictures were amazing. I've had a lot of compliments, saw several people with the same camera, and the auto setting does it's job. Even the people with $1000 cameras said the Lumix is great.
Shutterfly is great for online pictures. It's free, you occasionally get free prints, you can send links to people so they can print out their own, and you can have it create photo books for you. My wife and I put our wedding pictures up on Shutterfly, sent the link to people, and let them order their own photos.

If you have the pictures on your computer already, places like WalMart and Target allow you to upload your photos to pick up in store later. You can also take a USB drive to most places for printing.

HI
I don't think I have a USB drive.
This Dell has a CD and place where I can put the disk from my Mavica.
Very low tech here due to keeping the budget behaving.
I will have to call our super Walmart tomorrow, and ask them how it works ...if i can upload to their website and pick up the photos later. Now that might work
Thank you !

I have uploaded with success to Costco and picked up the prints the next day. Inexpensive and easy, if you have a Costco nearby

I had a Mavica too and I loved it. I passed it on to my parents quite a few years ago now, but it was my first digital camera and it was da bomb in it's day! Glad you're still using yours!

We just bought dd a Nikon 3100. Very nice camera and it takes amazing photos. I was impressed. It's a bit much of a camera for a teen, but it's one she'll have for years and she does love taking photos....of herself! lol

I was in Walmart this morning and priced cameras.
I decided I better wait on one, as I only needed a few pictures to submit for the show.
So I asked enough questions. Came home, went to the Walmart
website. Made a account. Uploaded pictures and sent the order to my local store.
I will pick them up, probably tomorrow.
YAY
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.--------My signature--------

Can somebody advise me ....I want to buy a very old camera (mechanic) ....what brand should I take?

Not sure I totally understand your question.
You want to buy a old camera ?
Are you a mechanic ?
And what would your final purpose be with it ?
In my case, I only needed a few pictures, so I used my old camera
and uploaded to the store site. Worked for me.
One of my sons is going to give me a extra camera he has,
after he found out how, old tech/outdated/frugal his mom really is, with
cameras........--------My signature--------

I assume Tammi means a camera that uses actual film, with a shutter that physically moves. I have no idea which one to buy, though.
