I took mine down New Years Eve. My sons birthday is January 3rd so I want to make sure the focus is birthday, not lingering Christmas decorations. I only leave them up that long because he is so little and likes looking at the tree so much.

Not before New Year's day. When I was a kid we took everything down on Jan. 6, Epiphany.

Took ours down the Thursday after Christmas because dh was home to help. We put up two very large real trees, so it is a lot of work.

After Epiphany, Jan 6.
I hate how Christmas "starts" in November or earlier and then on Dec 26 it is suddenly all over. I like to let the season wind down to a gentle stop. FWIW, mine will come down this week.Use it up, Wear it out,
