Smile What are some natural alternatives to toothpaste that will not harm one´s teeth?

    Hello All
For a while now, I have been brushing my teeth with pure baking soda and have felt no negative effects from doing so. I have recently, however, heard about the effect it is said to have on teeth enamel. Now that I have read this, I wish to look for other natural alternatives to toothpaste that do not affect your teeth in any negative way. Would you all be so kind as to suggest any alternatives? Thank you very much!
    Much Love,
    Manuel

My dentist told me that baking soda would not harm my teeth BUT, I noticed after using it for 4 months my teeth were much more sensitive so I stopped using it.

I wish I knew the answer to your question!

I am pretty sure you can brush them with just water. If you are not getting fluoride from the toothpaste then really all you are getting is the flavor.

Try an electric toothbrush, it gets your teeth very clean-feeling.

This is interesting to me. Growing up, baking soda was all we ever had to brush our teeth. I still use it quite often. I had never before heard that it was harmful.

it can take off some enamel.

just dont use it everday - from a friend who is a hygenist...she suggested using sensodyne whitening and baking soda once a week. this has been keeping stains at bay - my last cleaning was a breeze! i do get a cleaning 2x yrly (some yrs three and i pay out of pocket for 3rd) but, i drink coffee in the AM, tea in the afternoon and red wine at night...enough said...

so, i have been following the regime and had nice results. you can find occassional coupons and sales at cvs on sensodyne...
