tightwad gazette tops my list, but there are other goods one out there that aren't viewed as extreme, like america's cheapest family. mary hunt has some good books too that talk about frugality.

Thanks all! The books on on the list from here out too expensive! lol, I am not going to spend 15+ bucks on a frugal book.
I found a tightwad gazette on Ebay this morning for dirt cheap.

I will look for them at the thrift stores.

Check you local library for books! (if you have one) I did a search on frugal living on my libraries web site and found several books. If you don't have a local library you can keep your eye open for second hand books at garage sales, thrift stores etc. I think you can even buy used books through Amazon vendors. Good luck and I hope you are able to find some good books on frugal living at a cheap price.

    Default Good Frugal Books

    Hi all,
I'm not always able to access the internet to get answers to my questions. I need some advice on good books for frugal and money saving ideas. So far I 've found the Tightwad Gazette to be a good reference book, but I was curious as to what other people used. Thanks!

The Dave Ramsey books, if you don't know them, and Amy Dacyczyn's Frugal Zealot books.

After that, I date myself. My personal favorite is Judith Klinger's Food Inflation Fighter's Handbook, the money numbers are of course way off, but the suggestions hold up.

Also Delight Dixie Omohundro's How to win the grocery game: A proven strategy for beating inflation and Barbara Salsbury's Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half.

All of these, except the Ramsey book are from the 70s, when I was first a young wife and trying to figure out how to save $$$, also accordingly, before the net.

    IHTH!
