Does your dh or partner cook?
I posted this in the frugality forum b/c I was just thinking that I think it actually helps us be more frugal b/c Gripey does cook. As I type he's in the kitchen prepping to cook hamb. steaks on the grill. Sometimes when I'm just not in the mood to cook he will and that helps me not get so tired of it. And it helps when I'd give into the impulse to just eat out b/c I'm not in the mood.
Raise your hand if your other half cooks.

Well my hubby doesn't cook atleast he hasnt for a while now, I usually cook, I think it's better that way, since he works and I dont.
He does cook once in a blue moon when I am really sick and can't get out of bed or something, that's a blessing.

I live alone, but sometimes I think that helps my frugal efforts, because I'm more inclined to just rummage around the fridge or pantry than eat out. I'm not a big fan of fast food, so no temptation to stop on the way home from work. Many nights, dinner consists of cereal or popcorn!

Robert is a great cook, actually. However, if we waited for him to come home from work and cook dinner, we wouldn't be eating until 7:30 pm. By that time, the kids are in bed! So, I cook, and every now and then, he cooks a meal on the weekend.

DH and I have been together 4 years, married for 2. He has cooked for me exactly 2 times. He pretends he doesn't know how to cook but he's not fooling me, I know that he does! He just doesn't care to do it. I don't mind being the cook of the house. He's grateful, even if dinner is just mac & cheese out of the box with some sliced hotdogs thrown in. Some nights its 'fend for yourself night' and some nights its fast food night (on the nights when I don't feel like cooking). We both work full time and there's stuff that we do 2-3 evenings a week so on those nights its either a really quick dinner before 6pm or we wait until after we get home to eat.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Mine does. I taught him when we first started dating, and now he is quite a good cook.

Yes, DH can cook better than me! He can throw together stuff out of the pantry when I don't think there's anything to cook and make a great meal out of it, all without using recipes. It's the cleaning up after he cooks that's the hardest!

Yes & it's usually very good. I do start quaking in my boots when he starts grabbing spices at random OR utters the words swiss chard and/or vegetable medley.

My DH will cook when I am working. He is a pretty good cook and he loves to grill. He likes to cook all meat on the George Foreman grill. I have to admit that I prefer it cooked like that most of the time also.

My SO only knows how to cook with a blow torch... which was handy when we had that monster power outage back in August '03. But he is otherwise banned from the kitchen.

My DH cooks most of the time. I am in school and work part-time, he works part-time. He does not like to wash dishes so I used to do that. Now we have a dishwasher.

Dh is a fabulous cook and does the majority of the cooking at our house. I like baking, which he hates, so it's a great tradeoff we have going.

My DH specializes in grill cooking only. Works out nicely because it's difficult to prep food indoors and out. Only problem is there's no outdoor cooking in the winter.

Yes and he is a good cook. He recently took over cooking just after he healed from his broken knee. But now that he's working again and more when he gets home I do more of the cooking and he apologizes.
He does cook on the weekends or when he gets home early and we always go grocery shopping together to figure out dinners for the next two weeks.
