Unhappy Do you ever buy clothes on clearance,

and then find that you don't wear them? I try really hard to find bargains when it comes to clothes, but it seems like when I find things on clearance, like at Kohl's for $3-7 I am so excited, but then find I don't wear them.......what is wrong with me?????????

    Default CLEARANCE

I have done this many times, mainly in my past life, when I was happy and thought I could pull off a certain style, only to realize I really couldn't....or with pants thinking I could get away with sizes that weren't "talls"---I still do the clearance racks for the kids but avoid them for me, they don't pay off.

With certain things I do, and if I am out to find a needed item I will look to see if they have any marked down before I pay full price for it. For the first few years I was a stay at home mom my wardrobe consisted of stuff bought of clearance racks just because they fit, didn't matter that the style or color did nothing for me....it was cheap and it fit. I have down the buy the kids the next size bigger at season end clearance, and most of the stuff didn't fit when the season rolled around again. My kids are really good at skipping sizes.

I've done this, I think it's the thrill of the hunt and the excitement at finding something so cheap, and then I don't take into consideration if I like the garment.

I grew up in South Bend, but currently live in Lakeville. Nice to meet some other fellow hoosiers.

Sorry, I forgot tot answer your question. Yes, I have done that, but not often. I am very picky about what I buy for the very reason you mention. I don't want to buy something and then not wear it. I have to say I am proud of myself for buying a couple of sweaters at the thrift stores recently and I have worn both and love both.

This is the first time since I joined this forum that I have seen so many hoosiers here. It's nice. Maybe we should start a thread about being a hoosier. LOL

I have been teaching myself to purchase clothes that I'll wear from the clearance rack. Not just buy the nicest thing I can find on the rack because it is a good deal.

I used to do this all the time, but I've gotten better. Now I still buy mostly from clearance racks, but I make sure it's something I would wear even if it was full price... most of the time. Of course, as I type this I am wearing a pair of cheap sweats that I can't wear outside of my house because they shrunk terribly the first time I washed them They're short and baggy now. I'm another one who HAS to buy tall sizes!

I usually try to stick to classic styles that I know I will wear but when it comes to clearance racks, I am a fool about purchasing things that I end up not wearing. I will see a bright color that I think, I will put that magenta sweater with my gray slacks or that wild paisley blouse will look great with a black skirt and it is only priced at $3.00, so I purchase it and then I can't bring myself to wear it because it is so totally not my style.
