What are YOU saving for?
Throughout the year, I save $$$ for various things in my checkbook...I just subtract from my balance after our paychecks go in. TRUST me, NOONE could understand my checkbook!
Currently, I am saving for my son's grad party and his laptop for college (We bought my DD one 2 years ago, so now I'm stuck!). I also save during the year for our school/real estate taxes and car insurance. We will be replacing our oven VERY soon, and our refrig is getting pretty old, too, so I have my appliance replacement fund in a savings account.
It's a good thing I understand my system.
What are you saving for?Bought my new oven 1/08 and loving it!
My recurrent nightmare is there is no such thing as PMS, and this is my real personality.

We were saving for a new TV. We just got it a couple of weeks ago. 40 Inch flat screen.
My husband did lots of research before purchasing it.
We had $500 in Best Buy Gift cards that we got for rewards for using our CC. Paid it off in full each month. So free money.
We price matched it and saved another $300 for doing that.
We sold a few things on craigslist and got a new TV stand with that cash.
So now we need to start saving for something else. Probably a new driveway as ours is all cracked up. And since he got his new toy I think we need to get the driveway done since it is a NEED.Debra

We are going to be saving for new flooring....it should not take to long cuz a good friend of ours is the gen manager at a surplus home center. They have rock bottom prices and then we can get his discount on top of that!

In the new year I'm going to start a little fund to have our bathroom tub/tile epoxy coated! It's so outdated... Our furnace is ancient, too, so I should also start a replacement fund for that. Sigh. Maybe in 2009 I can start a vacation fund?

I am saving for vacation. Just the change. Other than that I am saving for nothing this year! I paid lots off this year. But starting in January I will be saving for a vehicle. I do not need one but mine is almost paid for and Id like to pay cash for mine in the future. 5 years or more later I hope!

We are hoping to move to a more rural area in a few years (or whenever the real estate market recovers!). I have an aerial view photo of the town that I want to live in... I taped it to the front of my debt/bills notebook

We are saving for remodeling or additions to the home, although the "saving" part is coming along at a very slow snail pace, lol. BUT every penny counts

Right now we're only saving for retirement through my 403(b) but once credit card debt is eliminated we'll be saving for a house down payment.

A Trip On The Delta Queen
With both of us now retired, we didn't know how our saving plan would work out. But we are still able to save towards some big ticket items. Right now we are saving towards a trip next June on the Delta Queen. We will fly to Nashville, and then cruise to Cincinnati and then fly home again. We've traved th DQ 3 times before to cover the entire length of the Mississippi River. We like it as it is a small, intimate boat, with great dining. It's laid back, and we enjoy just sitting on the deck in the porch swing or in a rocking chair and watch Ameria slip by. It's historial and educational with on-board lectures and activities and ports to tour. The big problem is that it is expensive. So we save up to enjoy this. This is probably going to be the last year on the water for the Delta Queen, so even more reason to save for this final voyage. By the way, it's considered a National Historic Monument, and is also the only floating US post office. So that's our goal!
Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.
Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!
