Default How many of us have fallen off the frugal wagon?

I know i have. i got a new job that pays 3 dollars an hour more and i am in worse shape then before! Our rent went up 125.00 a month but that is the only change in bilsl we have had.

So......... i need to get back on, just wondering how many others have fallen off.

I don't think I have fallen off. Just things are going up. Going to try to really tighten up stuff. This week I use the precooked meat for my husbands salads for lunch. I cooked my own and even sealed the extra in little packs and froze. More of my time, but way less money. I think that I just need to revamp what I do know to fit the cost in food.

Oh I've definitely fallen off. I'm looking at the new year with renewed enthusiasm for frugality. I will be re-reading the TWG and other frugal books that I get my hands on. Gonna be a time for re-focusing. You are so not alone

The whole reason I am here is because I finally came to terms with the fact that I became less frugal each time my income went up and/or my debt went down. One day I realized that I have had the same amount of "extra" money each month as I did when I made HALF of what I'm making now. That left me with a big "durrr!" feeling, and I decided to do something about it.

I think I got used to spending all of what I had; first out of necessity and later out of habit. I've recently taken advantage of the habit by "spending" towards my savings account. It still looks like I don't have any money, so everything feels normal

I definately have!! We have spent way too much on traveling expenses and eating out this year. I will definately be jumping back on that frugal wagon.

Here here! I started with a great budget for Christmas, and because of all the "great deals" I keep finding, my budget is getting blown. Granted, I will save some of the extra stuff for birthdays, I spent way too much. And eating out, don't get me started. I'm ready for January and my fresh start with my outrageous debt!!!

lol All those still sittin' on the wagon. See that weird dot way in the distance that seems to be yelling, "Dammit, slow down, get back here!!!" and not getting any closer? Yeah. That's me.

But I'll catch up. After Christmas.

I definitely have fallen off the frugal wagon! I need to sit down and plan what I need to do for the year 2008. My husband just got a new job and the feeling of security and new found money is deceiving...we are in DEBT and need to get out! I am going to try to sit down today and get my thoughts and numbers on paper and come back here and post it. If it is in black and white (and posted publicly) I know I will be more motivated into achieving my goals. I have company today, so it will have to be later.
    Thanks for this thread!
