Store refunds
I have a set of plates given to me as a give about 1.5-2 years ago...still in the box and never taken out. They were purchased at Dillards, it has the little yellow "proof of purchase required for return" sticker on it.
Anyone know if Dillard's has a time frame for returning items? Also, do you guys know if they'll refund/credit for what my friend paid for them?
You guys think I should try to return them? I figure it wouldn't hurt.

I went to the Dillard's website and here is a copy of their return policy.
Return Policy
We trust you will be satisfied with your Dillard's purchase. However, should you decide the merchandise is not satisfactory, Dillard's return policy is stated below.
The merchandise may be mailed back to us, or returned to any Dillard's location. Please leave all merchandise tags attached. Also, please note that if you choose to mail the merchandise back, you will be responsible for the postage. We recommend that you insure the package and ship via a traceable method. No refunds are given on shipping and handling charges. Personalized items cannot be returned.
Address package to:
Dillard's
444 Brick Church Park Drive
Nashville, TN 37207-3216
Dillard's will issue a refund in the form and amount of the original tender paid (including sales tax) or Dillard's will issue a Merchandise Credit, at the customer's choice, when each of the following conditions has been met:
The merchandise must be returned within thirty (30) calendar days of purchase; and
The merchandise must be in its original, unused condition unless there is a manufacturer's defect; and
The merchandise must be accompanied by either the original Dillard's Receipt or the original Dillard's Proof of Purchase Label. (Proof of Purchase information is included on the packing slip for all Dillard's Direct orders.)

Doesn't look like the company policy will allow them to issue a credit or refund. However, it never hurts to try. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.DD (19)

Thanks for looking up that info!
I have them on craigslist...perhaps if they don't sell there I will try to take them back to Dillard's. They're really cute but are just not my colors...also they're Made in China.

If you do take them back and they actually do accept them might want to be prepared they're probably going to knock the price of them alot if you don't have the receipt to prove what was paid for them. I would say your best bet is just trying to sell the out right or could you just keep them for extra company or even regift them to someone else one day? Just some extra thought for I know how dept stores work and hate to see you take less than what was paid for them even if you weren't the purchaser.
