Where do I start??

Any info foe someone that would like to get out of debt, but is not sure where to start? And I hear some about this Emergency funds, how does one start it if they are living paycheck to paycheck?? Any info will be great thanks

my advice for getting your emerg fund -

clean out the house and sell everything that you don't need -

pinch pennies til they scream

start writing down EVERY cent you spend day to day - and I bet you'll find somewhere to cut and add breathing room

add this to your emerg fund

take your lunch to work

don't eat out

visit the library

cancel cable tv

cancel caller id and call waiting.

I'm trying to get out of debt as well, and I've been saving as much money as I can. I don't get help from my Significant Other, who thinks every penny has to be spent. So I hide it from him.

Anyway, here are some things I've done.

I got rid of my cable. First, however, I recorded a bunch of my kid's favorite shows so they wouln't feel deprived. They can still watch thier Spongebob or Dora.

I don't buy any junk food. The kids drink milk, juice or water. I can find almost any recipe on the net for things like chips,donuts etc, which I can make at home for pennies. I don't make crap all the time, don't get me wrong. But We do like decadent treats once in a while.

I have dial-up, which only costs 9 bucks a month. I use the internet to make extra money, so I kept it.
