January Check up!
OK! How did you do in January? Meet your goals?
1. I had a goal of only spending $100 on food, including both eating out and groceries. I spent $101 total. Not bad, I guess, but wish I could have done better. Hubby spent just enough last night to take us over the top.
But I commit to $100 again in Feb. for food.
2. I had a goal of decluttering the house. I sorted thru 20 some boxes of papers, throwing most away, and filing others. I ended up with 3 shoe boxes of important papers to keep. Yay!!!!!!!
3. I had a goal of using mostly food from my fridge/freezer/pantry. We've done well on that, and have really worked down the freezer. Also I reorganized my fridge (with help from FV friends), and it's kept me on top of stuff in there.
4. I had a goal of fixing up the house to sell. We've really made progress here. We've sanded walls and ceilings on first floor, taped, primed, and are ready to paint this afternoon. We've redone the bathroom sink, purchased new bar stools for breakfast bar, purchased new light fixtures for a very nice price. And we got a nibble on the house by some interested people.
5. I had a goal of increasing my Bible reading time. We are reading a Psalm each morning, and I have joined 2 Bible study groups.

6. I had a goal of losing 5 pounds. Sigh. I lost 1. At my age, my body thinks a famine is coming and is stocking up against it. Sigh.......
7. I had a goal of exercising more. It is SO not happening. I have a hundred excuses, but the bottom line is .............. (Actually the bottom line is expanding, but we won't go there! LOL)
So..... how were your January goals?Spiritual:

I had 2 goals for January:
not spend more than $20 + $20 gift card for groceries = I went $.68 over Not bad, and I wanted to earn at least $175 over my normal paycheck. I knew I had a house sitting job, so I knew that would be easy, but I ended up getting an unexpected refund of over $250, so I exceeded that goal.

Forgot to mention that we stained woodwork, put new tile backsplash in kitchen and cleaned the lofts. It's all in my signature, but that's going to change tomorrow.
How about the rest of you? Have you tallied up January?Spiritual:
