anyone stockpiling Forever stamps?
I've been trying to add stamps to my grocery budget every week. I figure it's a good deal since you never pay a postal increase again. I'm up to three books now.
Anyone else? Or am I the crazy one?

I was just thinking about this earlier in the week! I still have some old 39 cents that I have been using with the 2 cent add-ons, so definitely need to use those up and stock up on the Forever stamps - - not often you can get postage at a discount!!!

I purchased a roll of 100, and recently began most of my bills online, so now I only use about 5 stamps each month. They should last a long time!

Am I the only one who has never heard of "forever stamps" before?
Guess I need to look into that.

~I'm NOT stockpiling them. I go through very few stamps and it doesn't make sense to pull $ out of 4% interest to save $.06 a month.~

I got 3 sheets of them last time. I'm still not going to use them. I still have quite a few .41 that I was saving to use in the next year, but will now add .01 stamp to them.
I don't use a lot of stamps anymore either. Pay most everything on line now and use email.

Contessa - the "forever stamps" are a fairly new addition. The way it works is that you purchase them at the going postal rate and then they are good for first class postage no matter what the current rate for a first class stamp is. It saves you from having to add postage when the rates go up, which I think is very annoying. I think it's a good idea to get a reasonable amount now. Postage is never going to go down!

Yes, we will be. DH and I have already discussed this. Whatever fits comfortably each week in our budget. This week was tight so only 1/2 a book.

Absolutely. I'm fairly young but still "old school" when it comes to paying bills. I think it's a control issue but there's just something about writing out that check and sticking it in the mail. I still mail stuff to my family fairly often as well so these will come in handy. I've asked for a 100-count roll of Forever stamps for my birthday! And I will probably pick a few books of these stamps up in the next couple of months.

Just a heads up, 'forever stamps' don't come in a roll, only books of 20. If you have a roll, you don't have 'forever stamps'.
