I read recently that you shouldn't leave it on b/c it's an acid and it will eat the finish off of the tile and glass doors. So, my suggestion would be spray it on before you get in the shower, wipe it down and rinse it....not everyday though. It will be very strong while you're in the shower with it....no avoiding that. You could clean it when you're not in it but it's sort of like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. How about spraying it down after your shower and then after you've dried off, rinse and wipe down? or wipe down and rinse....???

The vinegar has worked really well on the soap scum but not very well on mildew. What do you think I could use for that (besides bleach, I don't like to use bleach).

    Borax for mildew.

I wouldn't leave vinegar on daily. I'd use it once a week.

Mix 1cup of vinegar, 1cup of borax and 2cups of water. Sponge or spray the mixture on the dirty area and let it stay there for at least 10mins.

There will be a lot of tips & recipes for many purposes on the Borax box.

I mix in a couple drops of Lavender essential oil. You could use any scent, but I really find it helps.
